Hortifoska autumn fertilizer for conifers and other ornamental trees and shrubs is a granulated potassium-magnesium fertilizer, intended for autumn fertilization of all coniferous species. It is also perfect for growing decorative deciduous trees and shrubs, because it does not change the reaction of the ground. The fertilizer is primarily used to prepare plants for difficult winter conditions. It is worth starting using autumn fertilizers in the summer (even from July instead of nitrogen fertilizers).

High potassium content accelerates the wooding of shoots, which protects less resistant species of trees and shrubs from freezing. Magnesium is a component of enzymes responsible for plant resistance to temperature changes. Its content in the fertilizer effectively prevents browning of conifer needles. Sulfur, however, is necessary for building chemical compounds that increase plant resistance to fungal and bacterial diseases. Thanks to it, plants can have better start in spring.

Application method

If necessary, we can also use autumn fertilizer for conifers in spring, but it is worth supplementing it with nitrogen fertilizer.

FERTILIZER DOSES

The dose depends on the height of the plant:

– 30 g of fertilizer (about one handful) to be used for every 1 meter of plant height,

– creeping plants: apply 30 g of fertilizer for every 1 meter of plant range.

Spread the fertilizer evenly around the plant and, if possible, mix it with the top layer of soil, and after watering abundantly with water. Fertilizer in contact with moist soil will gradually dissolve.
