HORTIFOSKA – UNIVERSAL AUTUMN FERTILIZER

Hortifoska universal autumn fertilizer is a granulated phosphorus-potassium fertilizer, intended for autumn fertilization of all permanent crops, especially those that grow for the winter: trees, bushes, shrubs and creepers. It is also perfect for growing vegetables and annual flowering plants, because it affects the prolongation of the flowering period and faster maturation of the fruit. The fertilizer is primarily used to prepare plants for difficult winter conditions. Autumn fertilizers should start to use in the summer (even from July, instead of nitrogen fertilizers).

Hortifoska universal autumn fertilizer is packed in a very convenient to use packaging, equipped with a string, allowing multiple closing. The packaging made of foil prevents the penetration of moisture into the packaging, thanks to which the fertilizer contained therein does not agglomerate. The offer includes packages of 1 kg and 3 kg.

The high content of potassium makes that shoots are more wooden, what protects less resistant plant species from freezing. Potassium regulates the processes of collecting and evaporating water in plants. Thanks to this, plants are more resistant to water shortage in winter. Phosphorus stimulates plants to produce a healthy and well-developed root system, which translates into better resistance to adverse environmental factors.

Most importantly – Hortifoska universal fertilizer does not contain nitrogen, so it does not stimulate plants to grow intensely and form young shoots sensitive to low temperatures. The balanced composition helps plants enter winter dormancy and also increases winter hardiness and frost resistance of plants.

Application method

The fertilizer can be used as early as mid-July, in order to better prepare the plants for winter dormancy. However, the best time to start fertilizing with autumn fertilizer is August. Then the plants will optimally use the supplied nutrients before the onset of winter. In recent years, changes in our climate could be observed, consisting in a significant extension of the summer and autumn period, which means that the growing season of plants is elongate. Therefore, fertilization with autumn fertilizer can be repeated after 2 months. It is important to remember to not delay the fertilization for frost, because plants can not take in nutrients from frozen soil. The fertilizer for conifers can also be used in spring, if necessary, but it is worth refilling with nitrogen fertilizer.

FERTILIZER DOSES

In the recommended period, use 25 g (incomplete handful) * of fertilizer for every 1 m² of the surface on which plants grow. Spread the fertilizer evenly around the plant and, if possible, mix it with the top layer of soil and, after application, abundantly watered with water. The fertilizer in contact with moist soil will gradually dissolve.
