Basalt rock dust – natural soil improver

Basalt rock dust is a mineral soil conditioner. It is a natural product which supports plant growth by improving the physicochemical properties of the soil. The product can be used in the cultivation of vegetable and fruit plants of all plant species. It is especially recommended for both too light or too compacted soils with too low pH.

Application method

Doses, method and dates of use

Spread the agent evenly on the soil surface, and then mix it 10-15 cm deep. Use on no wind days in order to avoid spraying the agent in the space. The agent can be used throughout the growing season, but the preferred period is early spring or fall. In the case of soil pH <5.5, the dose of the agent can be increased by 5-10%.

Vegetable plants

Use before sowing seeds or planting plants:
• once every four years at a dose of 2-3 kg / 10 m², ie up to 2-3 t / ha, or
• systematically once a year at a dose of 0.4-0.5 kg / 10 m², ie 400-500 kg / ha

Fruit crops

Before setting up an orchard / plantation – spread the agent on the soil and mix it to a depth of about 15 cm. The agent can also be used “in the holes” for planted plants. The recommended dose is 2-3 kg / 10 m² (2-3 t / ha).
In an existing orchard / plantation – spread the agent on the soil surface in strips about 1 m wide along the rows of plants or individually around the plants within a radius of about 1.5 m. Recommended dose 0.5-1 kg / 10 m² (0.5-1 t / ha).
