BAND FOR TREE TRUNK

Band for tree trunk is used to catch wintering pests in bark crevices on tree trunks and pests emerging from night feeding.

How does the tree trunk work?

Insects hide in different places to survive the winter. Many insects preys on fruit trees overwinter in the corners of the bark. Insects are wintered in different ways, some fall into diapause (“winter sleep”) in adult form, others pupate for this purpose, and others lay hibernating eggs. A very important life feature of some insects is the passage of the development cycle several times, which is associated with pupation. The cardboard band put on tree trunks is an ideal place for wintering and pupation. Cardboard waves imitate the natural corners of the bark. In the recesses of the cardboard, insects hide, pupate or lay eggs for wintering. Therefore, the band is wrapped twice around the tree trunk so that insects can hide in it. Then the band after a few months is destroyed, preferably by burning, along with the insects found in it. In this way, we will effectively reduce the population.

Application method

The band should be applied on two dates – at the beginning of summer and at the end of August. When the band was putted at the beginning of summer, it should be removed at the end of August. When it was founded in late August, it should be destroyed in winter or very early spring. The cardboard band does not contain plant protection products, is safe for people and the environment, and fully biodegradable.

Directions for use:

1. Wrap twice the tree trunk with a band 30-30 cm above the soil surface. If the tree has a support, wrap it with a separate band. Tie the band with the string included in the package.
2. Larvae of pests fall under the waves of cardboard and pupate or overwinter there. Adult insects lay eggs in them.
3. At the right time (end of August, winter, early spring), carefully remove and burn the armband filled with pests.
